This has been made for the :iconKnitting-and-Crochet: May contest. The theme was "At the Beach and on the Sea".
I was looking through my makey do kit and found loads of lovely blue beads. The colours of them reminded me of all the different shades of blue in the sea and the different feels it can have if different weather. I also found I had a wonderful turquoise thread and and that changed from white to dark blue. The thread colour is important as it can be seen quite alot through the beads.
So I made so beaded rope necklacces.
The one of the left is called "Breaking Wave" and is made from sliver lined dark blue beads and frosted, really light blue frosted beads. These have been put on the colours changing blue to white thread, which makes the necklaces go darker and lighter as it goes around. The colours remind me of quite a stormy sea, where the dark waves crash into flurries of sparkeling white.
The centre necklace is called "Rolling Wave" and is made from dark silver lined beads, frosted blue beads and silver lined turquoise beads. These are on the turquiose thread. The colours of this one remind me of the changing colours of the sea as the waves lazily roll towards the shore.
And the right necklace is called "Shimmering Sea" and is made from frosted blue beads, silver lined turquoise beads and really light blue frosted beads. This one is also on the turquoise thread. This one reminds me of the sea that I've visited in beautiful hot countrys, where the sea is wonderfully turquiose and still. These are the colours that gentaly shimmer across it.

I have been trying for months to do beaded rope crochet.
Hook through, bead over, bead down, thread over, pull through, say rude word, unravel, re-tie slip knot.
It eludes me and seeing others doing it is like watching alchemy
